because it's always more interesting to do other things that you really shouldn't be doing when you ought to be concentrating on productive things.

In this case, it isn't exactly productive per se, but it certainly is worth money. I'm supposed to be marking papers but I have no mood for it.

So, tada, photospam time! )

National Day makes Saturday feel like Sunday.

I wanted to shoot the fireworks because I felt patriotic I'm leaving Singapore in two weeks, and it'll be nice to have a nice (cliche) view of Singapore for me to stare at in the middle of the cold Canadian winter.

Was lazy though, so I opted to shoot from my dad's office. At least it's a unique view.

I went to the National Stadium today, just to take a look around.

I almost didn't go because the sky looked threatening, but in the end it didn't rain at all, and still hasn't.

The trip started off alright, nobody tried stopping me, so I went around happily to all the usually 'forbidden' places. But as it got late, the stadium kinda creeped me out a bit. It was totally empty, for one, and I only saw two other people my whole time there. Also, it was quiet, too quiet. The sound of the camera's shutter was really loud and I didn't feel too good. So I found my way out. I'll go again, if I can get some company.

Here's a photo from today. Yx will note that it is red and black, although that wasn't really intentional.

Was at Changi Airport Terminal 3 today. I also went to Terminal 1 and 2, and in total I think I visited each terminal at least twice.

I think I'll get off right now, because I'm really ready to drop dead.

I went to the playground to shoot with the D300. First 'real' shoot for the camera.

I decided to take photos of the kids at the playground, although I normally dislike taking pictures of people. I don't know who the kid is, but he's cute.

For the record, the photograph's unedited, except for resizing. 1/320 at f/2.8, ISO 500. The D300 is good.

Just in case you didn't know...

This is Hamley.
He's a small brown dog who travels a lot, always on hand-carry.
Born in London, he really wants to go visit home soon.
Oh, and he's a relic from my childhood and England.

P.S. His ears stick up naturally, ok.

Took a walk around the neighbourhood, and saw lots of kids playing (because it's school holidays for them and not me!) I envied them for a bit.

I thus got reminded of my own childhood and how I had a lot of fun and didn't study and everyday was a good day.

Here are some shots taken today that I relate to my past. I know that to some it wasn't that long ago, but in proportion to my existence on earth, it is a long time for me.

Where have all the children gone?

One of my favourite structures on the playground - the giant spring-looking thing that you can climb up.

When I was small, everyone had signs like these on their houses. And their houses looked like that. Now it looks like this abandoned house is the only one left.

If I could, I wonder what I would give to go back 10 years, for just one day.

Today's sunset was nice. Although at first I thought there was no sunset because it looked so cloudy.

This sunset comes the evening before the maths paper 2.

Well, it could be taken to mean fantastic colours on my A Level results slip next year, or it could mean the end (that means really bad marks).

I think that it should be made compulsory, everyone has to see at least one sunset a month. Then at least nobody will have the excuse to forget that there is so much around us that we fail to notice.
